Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

SULTAN JOURNAL OF THEOLOGY RESEARCH (SIAD) requests that some ethical rules be taken into account in the creation and publication processes of a scholarly work, for which the author, reader, researcher, journal editor, referee and publishing organizations are also responsible. These rules are as follows:

Authors:

1. The submitted manuscripts should be original and scientific in nature.

2. The submitted manuscripts should be of a nature that will contribute to academic fields, the responsibility in this regard belongs to the author.

3. Since the submitted manuscripts will be scanned for plagiarism by the journal, authors should be very careful in this regard.

4. The submitted manuscript should not have been published anywhere before and should not have been submitted to another journal at the same time.

5. People who have no academic contribution to the study should not be listed as additional authors.

6. The citation and bibliography of the manuscript must be complete.

7. Authors should take into account the Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Directive of the Council of Higher Education.

Referees:

1. Reviewers should observe the principle of confidentiality before and after the review and evaluation process.

2. Reviewers should evaluate the manuscript in an impartial and critical manner.

3. Referees should only consider the academic accuracy of the manuscripts while evaluating, not whether the idea put forward in the manuscript is appropriate or not.

4. Reviewers should not have any conflict of interest with the research, the authors and/or the research funders.

5. While preparing the reports, the referee should avoid insulting, belittling, personal targeting, accusatory expressions, and should use objective and measured expressions based only on the text.

6. Referees should use clear statements in their evaluation reports, and should express the positive or negative conclusion together with the reasons.

7. Referees should definitely provide "alternative suggestions" if they reach a negative opinion about the manuscript or give corrections to the manuscript.

8. Referees should evaluate the manuscripts within the time allotted to them, otherwise they should notify the journal within a reasonable period of time that they will not be able to evaluate the manuscript.

9. In case one reviewer gives a positive evaluation and the other a negative evaluation, the decision belongs to the editor.

Editors:

1. The editors have full responsibility and authority to accept or reject an article.

2. Editors should not have any conflict of interest with the accepted or rejected manuscripts.

3. It is the responsibility of the editors to keep the names of referees and authors mutually confidential.

4. It is the responsibility of the editors to scan the articles submitted for publication for plagiarism.

5. It is the duty of the editors to complete the preliminary review, refereeing, editing and publishing processes of the articles submitted to the journal in a timely and healthy manner.

6. Editors should prioritize academic concerns and criteria when accepting articles to the journal.
